Whitby Brunswick Centre
The Whitby Brunswick Centre was previously a Methodist church. It was built in 1891 based on a design by Waddington & Sons. The following year a room was added to the main building and was called the Brunswick Room. It was used to hold social events and activities. In 1994, the Brunswick church and the Brunswick room gained a Grade II listing building status.
However, over time funds decreased and its congregation grew smaller which finally led to the closure of the Brunswick Methodist church in the 90's. Years later both buildings were sold and were renamed the Whitby Brunswick Centre. Since then this important building has been restored to give it a new lease of life.
